Steven K. Gorman, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Thermal Conversion Technology, Inc. (TCT Solar), is a 30-year veteran of the solar energy industry. Responsible for the overall performance of TCT Solar since its purchase in 1995, Gorman oversees all aspects of TCT’s proprietary ProgressivTube® passive solar heating systems as well as its extensive national and international dealer / distributor network.
Gorman began his career in the solar energy arena as the Program Manager of Residential Applications at the Southern Solar Energy Center in Atlanta, a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. From this sound starting point, Gorman launched his career into the private sector as the Vice President of Marketing and later, President, of U.S. Solar Corporation, a Jack Eckert Company known as one of the most innovative companies in the US Solar Industry.
From 1987 to 1994, Gorman acted as President and Founder of American Energy Technologies, Inc. (AET), a manufacturer of solar thermal products. Within the first twenty-four months Gorman grew the company to become one of the largest solar thermal manufacturers in North America. A former Chairman of the Florida Solar Energy Center (University of Florida) Policy Advisory Board, Gorman dedicates much of his time to educating the public and private sectors on the value of solar thermal energy as a cost-effective, energy-efficient environmental solution. He has previously served on numerous Select Committees of the U.S. Department of Energy, Commerce, and State on behalf of its Secretaries as well as sat on the Board of Directors of both the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC). Gorman currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association.
