Jacksonville, FL, USA (April 28, 2005) Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a national TV program airing on ABC Sunday evenings with 17-20 million viewers tuning in each week. James Dolan was shot and blinded in the Radio Shack shooting last November in St. Petersburg, Florida. Lexington Homes built and donated the home for the Dolan Family. The 3,500 square foot home features dozens of advanced and energy efficient technologies including two TCT, PT40 ProgressivTube solar water heating collectors.
The ProgressivTube solar water heating system, provided courtesy of the SunBuilt Program, requires no pumps or controls and contains no moving parts. Installed by Solar Source of Largo and manufactured by Jacksonville-based TCT Solar, the two collectors installed have a heating capacity of 80 gallons and are expected to save the family about $500 annually.
"We are extremely honored to be a part of this worthy cause," commented Steve Gorman, CEO of TCT Solar. "The addition of the PT40 collectors will provide a continuous supply of hot water for use by the entire home. The system requires little or no maintenance which is ideally suited for this home application."
"We are especially pleased to be able to participate in the Extreme Makeover, Dolan family project. As a normal part of our business practice, TCT Solar works with several charitable groups to help provide a reliable and cost effective supply of hot water for both residential and commercial applications," Mr. Gorman added.
